Ingredients
- For the Drumsticks:
- 8 chicken drumsticks
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp chili powder
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (adjust for desired heat)
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- For the Spicy Garlic Sauce:
- 3 tbsp butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp hot sauce (such as Frank’s Red Hot)
- 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional for extra spice)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
- Prepare the Drumsticks: In a large bowl, combine the olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, chili powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Add the chicken drumsticks and toss until they are well-coated with the spice mixture.
- Bake the Drumsticks: Arrange the seasoned drumsticks on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, turning halfway through, until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) and the skin is crispy.
- Make the Spicy Garlic Sauce: While the drumsticks are baking, melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Stir in the hot sauce, apple cider vinegar, and red pepper flakes, and let the sauce simmer for another 2-3 minutes.
- Coat the Drumsticks: Once the drumsticks are done baking, remove them from the oven and drizzle or brush them with the spicy garlic sauce. Return them to the oven for an additional 5 minutes to allow the sauce to set.
- Serve: Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot with low-carb sides or a salad.
